well that is a very cute name but the middle and last name sort of sound like a street name rose way so unless your naming it after someone i would think of a couple of more options like elane or something short

I think the first name is wonderful. But the middle name makes her sound like a street.

It sounds just fine, but then every other parent out there thinks so too. ;) Olivia is a top ten name, after all, and Rose is one of the most popular filler middle names out there (the Anne, Lynn, Marie of our generation).
Don't get me wrong. I like both names. I'd just be more inclined to use one or the other, but not together. In other words, if Olivia is definitely THE name for your daughter, I'd look for a middle name that's a bit less expected. It doesn't have to be unheard of or created or anything crazy like that. Just not Rose, Grace, Lynn, etc. Then, should she ever get tired of sharing her name with six others in her class (just an example, I'm not saying she will LOL), she'll have a less common option at the ready! Likewise, if she adores her name but wants to avoid mix-ups with classwork or even more troublesome issues such as insurance claims and credit ratings, she can use both her first AND middle names together to differentiate. My MIL had a very common first and last name, and after a horrible credit mix-up that took years to correct (BECAUSE her full name was so common), she made sure to add her uncommon middle name to all official documents (driver's license, bank account, etc.). I won't list it here, but basically, if before she was known as Mary Smith, she began using Mary Fiona Smith on everything, so if someone tried to cash a check or open a credit card in the name of "Mary Smith," her bank or the card company would know that was a fraud. Olivia Rose would not have that option (and bear in mind that your last name does not come into play here, because even if you think it's uncommon -- though I know quite a few Ways myself -- she may one day marry a Smith, Jones or Brown, know what I mean?). Just some things to consider. Hope it helps! ;) |
