The key element is to safely begin with a moderate weight lifting program with a few minor modifications. When trying to start on weight training during pregnancy, previously active or not, never attempt to lift weights up to exhaustion, only until you feel that there is an exertion going on. Pregnancy is not the time to perform strenuous activities. When weight training during pregnancy, there are some important guidelines that you need to follow, always listen to what your body tells you. When you experience light-headedness and dizziness, it is time to take a rest. Always drink lots of fluid in between. It is your way of cooling down because overheating should be avoided when pregnant. And the most important rule is to have oodles of rest. These are only some of the safety precautions that you need to keep in mind when weight training during pregnancy.
