10 Things to Avoid When Choosing a Day Care - #8

#8: Ignoring Questions, Not Minding Answers

Asking day care centers is one great step for success in choosing the right learning facility for children. If you agree, then never ever ignore the opportunity for you to throw questions to the day care directors and other people working on the center. This way, you can make sure that the option you are considering is great enough for your kid. It will allow you to determine whether the day care center is highly capable of nurturing your children in a positive way or not. In other words, you will know exactly if the facility is able to give you the best service, with emphasis on comfort and safety.

Now, wondering what possible questions to ask? Consider the following:

What are your policies regarding childcare?
    How do you view discipline?
Do you carry options regarding sick care?
Do you serve snacks and meals for the kids? What types of meals do you serve?
Do you charge extras for late pick-ups?
What is the turnover rate of your staff?
Are there any safety and security policies? What are they?
Can I visit my child whenever I like?

You can ask several other questions possible. The tip here is to ask an open-ended question that will leave the directors utter more than just “yes” or “no”.
