Designer Baby Gifts Are For Designer Babies

Every expectant mother is looking for the cutest and unique baby clothes they can find. Most women pick a theme for their nursery and starting building on that. The internet is crammed with baby stores for clothes, gifts, bedding and so on. But currently there is a trend in designer baby wear and designer baby gifts for the newborn.

All of the big designer labels, Gucci, Louis Vuiton, Coach, Fendi, Burberry, Polo, Christian Dior, Versace and Chanel all carry a line of designer baby gifts and baby wear. The other designer labels that most of us are usually able to afford, the Guess, Gap and Abercrombie and Fitch also have their own label designer baby gifts and baby wear. It is very chic at baby showers today to give the expectant mother designer baby gifts.

It seems ridiculous to most people to spend $75.00 on a sleeper set for a newborn, or $175.00 for a Coach baby bag, but there is something very special about at least having one designer baby gift in the nursery. While these designers have gone overboard in supplying the market with designer baby gifts, their clients cannot keep their shelves stocked.

Consumers are buying designer baby gifts as quickly as they arrive into the stores and internet sales are also soaring. The demand is definitely there and the big designer companies are making big bucks with these designer baby gifts.

    The Designer Baby

It is not unusual to walk through Central Park in New York and see babies strolling in their designer strollers with their matching designer baby clothes. Bibs and blankets are all made with the designer's signature logo to make the total look complete.

Booties, baby bottles, pacifiers, teething rings and diapers all carry designer labels on them. It really doesn't make any difference as far as comfort for the baby, but it is a status reminder for the parents.

Of course, there are a group of people who are millionaires who would only think of buying designer baby items for their newborn. These people have baby showers with about 50+ people and the only items they receive are designer baby gifts. Their nurseries are designer nurseries. But for the rest of us, a designer baby gift is cherished as one baby memento which is kept forever as your newborn's keepsake.

There is sense of silliness about seeing a baby decked out in his designer baby gift collection. Just knowing that someone paid about $300.00 or more for what the baby is wearing, or riding in, seems utterly ridiculous considering this child will outgrow the entire ensemble in a few months. But if your money grows on trees then why not have a designer baby. After all, we have designer dogs.
